Oops: 10 Covenant University Girls Get Expelled For Not Wearing Bra..
It has come to our notice that a couple of female students have been expelled from the prestigious Covenant University for not wearing bra.
Apparently the girls got expelled for participating in the “National No Bra day” that took place 13th of Oct in an attempt to promote the buzz around the awareness for Breast cancer. The girls attended classes without their bras, revealing the shape and size of their breast. The lecturers, aroused sensually by the act, took to their heels and reported the distraction to the school authorities.
The disciplinary committee of the school has reportedly told the girls to come dressed in the said “no bra” attire to “appeal their expulsion, citing that since the university students are not allowed to use mobile phones, they were no selfies or any pictorial evidence of their outfits from yesterday to use for the appeal.”

News: JAMB commences sales of UTME forms Thursday
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, said it would commence sales of 2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination application forms from September 15, 2014 to January 15, 2015.
The board stated that following its resolution to implement full-blown Computer-Based Test in the 2015 UTME, a number of reforms aimed at repositioning the examination sector had been put in place to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
A statement by the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, on Tuesday in Abuja, explained that the board had fine-tuned arrangements with CBT centres to register prospective UTME candidates.
This, it noted, became necessary to make the registration exercise error and stress-free for candidates.
The board said that it had discovered that most of the cases of impersonation and other malpractice were initiated from the registration process by cyber-cafes, hence the need to regulate the registration process to ensure the system is malpractice-free.
It said, “By this arrangement, candidates are to obtain their application document from the designated banks and proceed to any of our CBT centres and register for the examination at a regulated fee.
“There are about 300 centres all over the country and the centre members of staff have been trained for this purpose.”

Candidates who chose University of Port Harcourt in the 2014 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with a score of 180 and above, are invited to a Screening Exercise as indicated below.

University Of Ibadan 2014/2015 Post-UTME Form, Cut-off, Date, Procedure Is Out
This is to inform members of the public in particular candidates who score 200 and above and have made, University of Ibadan (UI) as their preferred institution in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) that the 2014/2015 Post-UTME form is now on sale.
Eligible Candidates are to submit their bio-data and SSCE, WAEC/NECO results ONLINE through http://www.admissions.ui.edu. ngon or before Monday, 21 July, 2014.
Candidates who are expecting the release of their 2014 O/level results CAN participate in the 2014/2015Admissions Exercise by indicating their “Awaiting Result” status appropriately online. Such results must be uploaded immediately they are released. SSCE (or equivalent) results released after 31 August, 2014 will not be considered for the 2014/2015 Admissions Exercise.

A (i)Candidates are to payN2, 000.00 for Admission Processing and N1, 000.00 for checking of results. The total sum of N3, 000.00 should be paid into any of the underlisted accounts:

This should be done by logging-in on: http://www.admissions.ui.edu. ngwith the JAMB Registration Number and submission of a valid/functional e-mail address and GSM number (for SMS text).
(iii) Candidates will retrieve username and PIN-number on the same web page, immediately after submission of bank teller details.
(iv) Candidates are then expected to log onto http://www.admissions.ui.edu. ngto submit their bio-data and ‘O’ level results.
(v) Candidates should ensure that the on-line forms are carefully filled, following ALL necessary instructions, as “mistake(s)” may lead to disqualification.
(i) Please fill the on-line forms in CAPITAL letters only.
(ii) Candidates can return to the portal, up till 21 July, 2014 to edit/complete their previous entries or otherwise review and print their submissions. Please ensure that you click “FINAL SUBMISSION” before printing.
Applicants should note that no further editing CAN be done after final submissions.
(iii) Kindly use functional e-mail addresses and telephone numbers to enable the University reach you in the course of the Admission exercise or whenever the need arises.
(iv) Candidates are expected to upload their passport photographs and signatures.
The image format for the passport and signature is JPEG and must not exceed 50kB.
The photographs must be on white background showing both ears, without glasses, cap or headgear.
(v) An online help desk platform on http://www.admissions.ui.edu. ng/helpdeskwill be available to handle all genuine enquiries.
(vi)Schedule:
Candidates that are duly registered and processed for the Post-UTME Screening exercise will access their screening details on the admissions portal at a date to be announced later.
4. Candidates should please note that it is only when an ‘O’ level result is deficient for a course of choice that another deficient result may be presented to complement. Candidates presenting two ‘O’ level results (6 credits at 2 SittingsEXCEPT COLLEGE OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY) should ensure that the comprehensive details of both results are submitted.
5. The deadline for submission of bio-data / ‘O’ level results may not be extended. Any candidate whose data are not submitted within the stipulated time may not be considered for Post-UTME Screening and for admission.
6. Misrepresentation/falsification of documents is a serious offence. Candidates are therefore advised to submit genuine documents only. Anyone found guilty of this offence will be disqualified automatically and in appropriate cases, be handed over to the Law Enforcement Agencies.
7. Candidates are strongly advised to adhere strictly to the guidelines stipulated above for successful completion of the online submissions.
8. Finally, candidates are requested to note that payment of the sum ofN3, 000.00 is for processing of each applicant’s application and for checking of result. This does not guarantee admission. Candidates are advised to keep the Original of the Bank Teller for future use.

News: UniAbuja Begins Indefinite Strike
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) University of Abuja Chapter has begun an indefinite strike to draw attention to developments in the institution since after the work of the visitation panel.
The union announced its decision on Monday after a meeting held at the mini campus of the institution.
The Chairman of the branch, Mr Ben Ugheoke, told newsmen in Gwagwalada that the union had resolved to embark on an indefinite strike beginning from Monday.
He said that the Federal Government on July 16, 2012 constituted a visitation panel to resolve issues affecting the institution but the white paper of the report had yet to be released.
Ugheoke alleged that facts available to the union showed that funds allocated to the institution were being misappropriated, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof James Adelabu, was misusing power.
He alleged that the vice-chancellor deliberately refused to pay their teaching, marking, supervision and professional allowances dating back to 2010.
The union also alleged that the vice-chancellor refused to check off their dues.
“ The vice-chancellor in April 2013 checked off our dues as it is mandated by the Trade Union Act and some levies but the fund was yet to be remitted to the union’s account.
“He later stopped the check off dues from May 2013 claiming that there was a circular to that effect.
He did that because he wants to cripple the union.
“ We feel that the white paper should be released so that the university through its council would effectively implement its recommendations immediately because a lot of issues are contained in it,” the chairman said.
He urged the vice-chancellor to clear up the problems he had created before vacating the office. (NAN)

See Another Student Builds Wind And Solar Powered Car For Final Year Project [PHOTOS]
Segun Oyeyiola, the final year Obafemi Awolowo University engineering student, has spent the better part of a year, retrofitting a Volkswagen Beetle to run on solar and wind energy at the same time.
According to him:
“I wanted to reduce carbon dioxide emission[s] going to our atmosphere that lead to climate change or global warming which has become a new reality, with deleterious effect: seasonal cycles are disrupted, as are ecosystems; and agriculture, water needs and supply, and food production are all adversely affected.” “Therefore, I came up of building a car that will use both winds and solar energy for its movement,” he continued. “This was my personal project because of the problem I’m planning to solve.”

His contraption is still a prototype and not suitable for everyday use yet (The battery requires about 4-5 hours to charge and is so heavy that he had to modify the suspensions to bear the weight of the battery) but it has already brought a new, possible solution to the major problem with electric cars–charging the battery. Solar powered electric cars aren’t new, but adding a wind-turbine to augment the solar charger when the car is in motion is something I personally haven’t come across as an idea before. It in theory, would make it possible to drive and charge at night when there is no sunlight.
Segun, who finishes his exams tomorrow, isn’t deterred by his main challenges which he states are finding the appropriate materials for his car, and people who tell him he is wasting his time building it and plans to keep improving the car till it is “Nigeria’s future car”

Acceptance Fee Payment for Admitted Candidates
The list of candidates offered provisional admission in the Federal University of Technology, Akure, (FUTA) are required to:
(a) Make Acceptance fee payment of Sixty Thousand Naira (N60,000) only using the e-tranzact Platform in any branch of First Bank of Nigeria Plc. nationwide on or beforeFriday, 7th February, 2014;
(b) use the UTME Registration Number, Confirmation Code and Receipt Number on the e-tranzact receipt obtained from the bank in respect of (a) above to log on to the FUTA website: https://www.futa.edu.ng/futacms/ (the website link is above) and print the following documents:
i. Provisional Admission Letter;
ii. Acceptance Form;
(c) submit the Acceptance Form online; and
(d) bring a copy of the Acceptance Form to the Admissions Office, FUTA with effect from 17th February, 2014 when Normal Registration and Orientation for freshers will begin.
