A total of 300 prisoners were able to escape last week, when there was a heavy explosionat the Federal prisonin Ekiti. The prisonservice has announced that a total of 193 have been recaptured.

The state Prison’s spokesman, Mr Ope Fatinikun said the chase for other escapees was still on. He urged people in neighboring states of Ondo, Kogi, Edo, Oyo and Kwara to be vigilant as some of the prisoners might want to take refuge in their community.
