
Eighteen persons have been killed by suspected members of the Islamic fundamentalist sect, Boko Haram, in Uba town, in a renewed attack the southern part of Borno State, a member of the youth vigilance group, Mala Isa, revealed on Saturday.
He said the insurgents stormed Uba in a convoy of vehicles and killed everyone in sight.
Ibrahim said, “As they approached, news filtered and the people fled in droves. On arrival, the terrorists threw explosives into many houses.”
He added that he was told by some of the residents in Uba that the insurgents killed 18 persons and destroyed many houses.
