Another female suicide bomber struck today in Kano killing four people, mostly women who were buying kerosene at the station.
The bomber slipped into the crowd at the NNPC Mega filling station at Hotoro Quarters along Maiduguri Road in the ancient city and detonated her explosives inside the crowded station.
A police bulletin issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, stated that three people died and on the spot while some 8 others were injured in the latest blast.
The bomber did not succeed in igniting the gas station as planned, a situation that would have clearly led to many more deaths and injuries.
Meanwhile, the police bomb disposal unit has arrived the scene and cordoned off the site of the blast.
Today's bombing is the fourth bombing recorded in Kano in the last 24 hours.
