A very busy market in Maiduguri, Borno state has been bombed by suspected members of Boko Haram islamic sect.
The attack happened around 8:20am on Tuesday.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the bomb exploded in the busy hours of the morning.
A high ranking security operative in Borno State said many people lost their lives in the attack.
Today’s bombing would be the first major bombing by Islamist sect Boko Haram since the beginning of the Ramadan. The “Monday Market” is the biggest open air market in the troubled northeast of Nigeria.
Powerful bombs that exploded at a popular market in the capital city of Borno State Nigeria around 8:20 am today killed unspecified number of people.
This is the latest terror inflicted by extremist Jidahist sect, Boko Haram in the troubled Nigeria’s Northeast region.
The attack killed unspecified number of people and left several others injured.
