A newly wedded couple, Abdullahi Abubakar, 33, and Asiya Yusuf, 18, died in a fire disaster on Thursday at Sabuwar-unguwa in Katsina State. The couple, whose marriage was two-month-old, died of injuries they sustained from the incident. An older brother to the bride, AbdulHafiz Yusuf, said that they received a distress call around 2.30 a.m. informing them of the disaster. Yusuf confirmed that the couple died at Katsina General Hospital of the injury they had sustained from the fire, which was allegedly caused by an electrical fault. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the incident, adding that police was investigating the cause of the fire. Friday, 24 January 2014
